Screening of Hidden Figures, Followed by Discussion
On the 28th March 2017, our supporters joined us in watching Hidden Figures at the Errol Flynn Filmhouse, Northampton. Tickets sold out quickly. After enjoying the movie we held a discussion about how BME communities are represented on the big screen. We also discussed future ideas for encouraging an increase in more multicultural film screenings in Northampton.
Roots n Groove Quiz Night
Thank you to everyone who attended our black history quiz on 25th February 2017. Without the support of volunteers, sponsors and our supporters we would not have been able to provide this successful evening of entertainment at such a low cost (£6 per ticket). Over 50 people attended this event and the feedback has been very positive.
This event was held in partnership with Race Act 40, Northamptonshire Rights & Equality Council and WACA, in celebration of Black History Month. The event was sponsored by NUT and Unison. Ashley from DigiKid volunteered his services as our Quiz Master. Mark Dean from Inspiration FM also volunteered his time to provide us with some music at the end of the music. There were lots of happy people dancing, from the young to our elders. There was also some interesting talks.
If you missed it here are some of our favourite pictures.
