The Board of Trustees comprises of long-serving members who oversee the strategic planning and operational control of the Association in achieving its objectives and principal activities.

The aims and objectives stem from the charity’s objectives as stated in its Articles of Association: 
- To advance the education of the public in the subject of Black History in Northamptonshire and other parts of the United Kingdom and the world;

- To promote racial harmony for the public benefit by advancing education and raising awareness of Black history to promote good relations between persons of different racial groups in Northamptonshire and other parts of the United Kingdom and the world.
